 ARE YOU CAPABLE FOR MARRIAGE  ❓❓

I was reading a particular place in my bible this morning and the disciples of Christ were asking him about his opinion on divorce since Moses in the old testament permitted them to divorce.


But Jesus responded and I rephrased, "That was not part of God's original plan on marriage but due to hardness of your heart. God's original plan was that a man should leave his father and mother and cleave to his wife and  no one should desecrate his art by cutting them apart. The only exception for you to divorce your partner is when he or she commits adultery".


On hearing this, one of the disciples gave a response in form of a question, which I believe every single would love to ask as well."If those are the terms of marriage, WE'RE STUCK. Why get married?" This got me thinking to myself.


But Jesus gave a deeper response which I will love everyone married or engaged, or about to commence a relationship leading to marriage to meditate on. If possible, pray seriously about it.


Let me capitalize his words for emphasis!


BUT JESUS SAID, "NOT EVERYONE IS MATURE  ENOUGH TO LIVE A MARRIED LIFE. It requires a CERTAIN APTITUDE and GRACE...


Marriage ISN'T for EVERYONE.😳 Some, from birth seemingly, NEVER GIVE MARRIAGE A THOUGHT. Others never get asked—or accepted. And some decide NOT TO GET MARRIED for kingdom reasons. 


But if you're CAPABLE of growing into the LARGENESS of marriage, DO IT."


From this passage, I realised on a deeper level that marriage is NOT FOR JOKE. It's NOT FOR BABIES but MATURE MIND.


If you are not given the certain aptitude and grace as Christ Jesus mentioned, you can't get married and be able to sustain it.


There is a need for everyone trusting God for marriage to have the following:

👉Maturity: Be mature enough!

👉Grace and Aptitude: Ask for the grace and certain aptitude needed for marriage.

👉Capable: There is a need for us to become capable of what is called marriage. Pray for capability.

👉Grow into Largeness of Marriage: We must grow into the largeness of marriage.


Until these things are in place, I don't think we are ready to dive into marriage as singles. We must therefore pray in these things into our lives and intentionally work towards seeing the manifestation in us.


I believe the married are also asking for more of these in their marriages.


May we become capable, mature enough, have the grace and certain aptitude needed, for us to function well in our God- ordained homes. Amen.
